Process Engineer - Extrusion

Our client is a major player in the plastic profile extrusion industry.  With proven technology and a product line that is rapidly evolving and expanding to meet customer demand-the future looks exceptionally bright.  This growth has created a need for an experienced Process Engineer to develop and implement improvements to manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for handling day to day extrusion process troubleshooting and will be a key player in the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations.  Duties will include:

• Organizing and implementing ongoing projects involving the application of Design of Experiment, Capability Studies and Six Sigma techniques to assess existing processes and make recommendations to optimize processes, cut costs, and increase quality.
• Develop and manage the capital equipment budget and justify, select, and install state of the art machines and automation. 
• Complete FMEAs, Control Plans, Flow Analyses and other documentation.
• Assist in the implementation of technician training programs.
• Perform machine design/modification.
• Provide assistance in extrusion die/tool design
• Work directly with day to day process troubleshooting and problem solving.

Requirements include:

• BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Plastics Engineering/Technology
• At least 3 years of experience in the extrusion of PVC profiles.
• Candidates with specific experience in pipe, window lineals, home siding, fence, decking or similar profile products are particularly sought after.
