Injection Molding Technician

Our client is a plastic injection molder located in Western Tennessee.  The company is expanding to keep up with increased demand and we have an immediate need for an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician.  In you are looking for a company with a future, you should contact us right away.

Responsibilities:

The Injection Molding Process Technician will be responsible for the efficient operation of injection molding, blow molding, robots and auxiliary equipment in a modern and well equipped facility. Primary function will be to troubleshoot process, tooling, molding machine and materials problems, determine corrective action required, and take appropriate action.  Duties will include:

• Will work with Process Engineers, Project Engineers, and others in the setup of work stations, testing of new tools, and process optimization.
• Constantly review machine performance, scrap production, and quality. Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify problems and implement solutions.
• Provide day to day process, machine, and materials troubleshooting to quickly and efficiently solve production problems and produce quality products.
• Ensuring that the work area is well maintained, clean and orderly in accordance with company safety, hygiene, and lean manufacturing systems.
• Coordinate with Production Managers, Supervisors, Maintenance and Engineers to continuously improve tooling, process, maintenance/repair, and safety.

Requirements include:

• A minimum of 5 or more years of experience in the plastics industry with specific skills in the set-up and optimization of injection molding machines.
• Ability to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot, and correct molding process, materials, and tooling problems.  
• Training and experience in RJG Scientific Molding Systems.  Attainment of Level I or II certification is a plus.
• Must have experience with thermoplastic resins including PE, PP, PVC, Nylon, PC, ABS, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High School Diploma is required. Technical School or other advanced training is highly valued.
