Responsibilities:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Plant Engineering Group and is  responsible for process improvement and cost reduction in a fast paced plastic molding, assembly and sterile packaging facility.  You will lead projects involving new product and process development, capital equipment purchasing and installation, and the application of lean manufacturing technologies. 

 

  • Analyze and improve the design of production lines for molding, assembly, and sterile packaging operations.  Develop and improve automation systems.
  • Conduct tool setups and Process development for new tools and machines during the qualification stage
  • Establish, test, validate and document manufacturing, assembly, and test procedures.
  • Support Design for Manufacture and provide engineering expertise during tooling and part design reviews.
  • Utilize engineering and lean manufacturing techniques such as DMAIC, DOE, Root Cause, and Six Sigma to analyze manufacturing operations and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead CAPA initiatives and assist in the identification and resolution of product quality issues and customer complaints
  • Maintain and develop process and materials documentation for compliance to FDA and ISO procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate and document project progress and status

 

Requirements include:

  • BS in Mechanical, Plastics or other Engineering Discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in FDA regulated clean room plastic molding, assembly and sterile packaging operations. 
  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO documentation and compliance procedures.
  • Skills in injection molding process, materials, and tooling troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of automated sterile packaging processes and equipment. (Thermoforming)
  • Strong background in 6-Sigma analysis and lean manufacturing techniques including DOE, DFM, Root Cause, FMEA, DMAIC, etc.
  • Skills in project management and customer relations
