Design Engineer - Large Parts

Responsibilities:

The Product Design Engineer is responsible utilizing advanced 3-D CAD systems to transform concepts into computer models, performing necessary structural analyses, assisting in tool design (DFM) and supporting the transfer of new products to full production. Responsibilities include: 

• Working with Project Engineers, Marketing, and Customers to understand new product concepts and transform those conceptual ideas into 3-D computer models.
• Produce renderings, drawings, and revisions required for project and tooling quotation and release activities.
• Coordinate Design for Manufacture process with Tooling, Automation, and Manufacturing Engineers. 
• Perform FEA calculations to determine part optimal design and strength requirements.
• Ensure that Product Engineer(s), Tooling Engineers, Vendors and others involved in new product development projects have correct designs at each stage of the design and release process. 
• Manage print control system for the Design Department.

Requirements include:

• BS Mechanical, Plastics, or Engineering Technology
• A minimum of 5 or more years of experience in the design of large plastic parts and assemblies.
• Must have 3 or more years of experience in one or more of the following 3D CAD systems: Pro-E, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD. 
• Must have 3 or more years of experience in Injection and Structural Foam Molding.  Additional exposure to large part Blow Molding or Rotational Molding is a plus.
• Proven skills with Windows based Computer Systems.
• Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Candidates must be legally eligible for work in the US without sponsorship.
