Process Engineer - Extrusion

Our client is a large and rapidly growing manufacturer of plastic extruded profiles. The company had sales last year in excess of $3 billion and is on track for a record 2008. This growth has created a need for an experienced Extrusion Process Engineer for their Arkansas manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for handling day to day extrusion process troubleshooting and will be a key player in the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations.  Duties will include:

• Work directly with day to day process troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Asess processes and make recommendations to optimize processes, cut costs, and increase quality.
• As part of a team, justify, select, and install state of the art machines and automation. 
• Assist in the implementation of technician training programs.
• Perform machine design/modification.
• Provide assistance in extrusion die/tool design.

Requirements include:

• BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Plastics Engineering/Technology
• At least 3 years of experience in the extrusion of plastic (PVC, PE, etc) tubing, pipe or profiles.
• Candidates with specific experience in pipe, window lineals, home siding, fence, decking or similar profile products are particularly sought after.
