Client is an international manufacturer of high quality plastic consumer products known worldwide for innovative design and premium quality. The company constantly develops new products to meet the needs of an ever expanding market. This growth has created a challenging opportunity for a Product Engineer to manage major projects in Product Development.
Responsibilities:
The Product Engineer will provide technical support to Product Development and manage multiple projects from concept to production. You will have full responsibility for administration of project budget, coordinating with Design, Tooling and Manufacturing Engineering teams and ensuring project timeline and launch schedules are achieved. Duties will include:
- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules.
- Work closely with designers, engineers, and marketing team partners to define project requirements and delivery expectations.
- Develop accurate product and tooling costs.
- Develop product quality specifications, protocols, and review procedures.
- Ensure that products function properly and as intended.
- Provide engineering input and develop working solutions to meet functional requirements.
- Work with CAD department to develop product drawings.
- Supply technical information to the Model Shop to develop engineering test models.
- Manage and work closely with outside vendors and suppliers.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years experience in project management of consumer products
- Specific technical experience in plastics engineering including material knowledge, manufacturing processes, design best practices and process qualification.
- Knowledge of various testing methods related to plastics and materials.
- Computer literacy with MicroSoft Office and project management databases.
- CAD, Unigraphics,and Moldflow skills helpful.
