Account Manager - Plastic Automotive Component Sales

Account Manager with extensive experience in sales of injection molded precision plastic components to automotive industry Tier One Suppliers and OEM’s needed immediately.  The employer is a World Class Automotive Tier One Supplier. The firm has operations worldwide and produces a broad range of highly engineered plastic injection molded components.  Location is Detroit, Michigan.

Responsibilities:

The Account Manager is responsible for acquiring new business and maintaining contacts and

relationships with existing customers.  Duties will include:

• Working with customers to identify opportunities and grow revenue for assigned accounts
• Developing sales to new customers and maintenance of targeted profit margins.                  
• Manages customer meetings to obtain technical, cost target, timeline and other data required to develop product proposals to customers.
• Negotiates contract pricing and delivery options.
• Monitors and manages projects to ensure customer commitments are fully achieved.
• Coordinates with corporate engineering to develop products that meet customer requirements.
• Manages sales planning and forecasting, coordinates and assists in development of on-going sales and marketing strategies.

Requirements include:

• B.S. Business or Engineering
• Minimum of five years experience in sales of injection molded plastic components to automotive OEM’s and Tier One suppliers.  
• Demonstrable knowledge of injection molding process, materials, and tooling.
• Verifiable track record of success and achievement in development of new customers and the retention of existing customers.
• Skills in the use of computer project planning, customer contact, and word processing systems.
