Process Engineer - injection Molding

Outstanding opportunity with a global manufacturer of components for automotive, chemical, and utility markets around the world.  With total sales in excess of $3 billion, our client has invested heavily in its United States production operations and is rapidly expanding to meet growing demand for its products. That growth has created an immediate need for an experienced Injection Molding Process Engineer.

Responsibilities:

Located in Arkansas, the Injection Molding Process Engineer will be responsible for the development of efficient process systems and completing a broad range of capital equipment and automation projects.  Primary duties will include:

• Assisting and training Process Technicians and Machine Operators in the proper set-up of machines and tooling for efficient cycle times, minimum scrap, and excellent quality.
• Providing expert technical support for day to day process troubleshooting.
• Development and implementation of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing systems.
• Performance of technical studies utilizing Design of Experiment, Six Sigma tools, and Engineering calculations to analyze ongoing operations and make recommendations for improvement.
• Justification, selection, and installation of capital equipment including automation, conveyor/material handling systems, and other devices.
• Assistance in the development of project and new product cost quotations including tooling and materials requirements.

Requirements include:

• BS Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical or other engineering or technology degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in high volume, industrial injection molding \.
• Specific experience in Injection Molding Process improvement and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Tool Design and ability to perform Design for Manufacture studies.
• CAD skills, preferably AutoCAD or ProE
• Skills in modern SPC based Quality Systems and ability to utilize calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Experience with a variety of engineering and commodity thermoplastics.
