POLYMER SCIENTIST JOBS

Polymer Scientist / Engineer

Client is a large and rapidly expanding injection molder of high quality consumer packaging and custom plastic products for a wide range of applications.  Services provided include the development and testing of highly engineered plastic materials designed to meet specific cost and performance criteria.  We have an immediate need for a Polymer Development Scientist to take our client to the next level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

The Polymer Scientist / Engineer we seek will be responsible for the development of thermoplastic materials to meet constantly evolving customer application requirements.  The Polymer Development Scientist will work closely with the customer to determine specific application requirements, formulate new materials, test and evaluate those materials, and guide scale up to commercial production. Duties will include:

• Establishment of specifications for recycled products to meet customer requirements.
• Provide customer relationship and technical support as required.
• Assist in the identification and development of material sources-recycle, resin manufacturers, compounders, etc.

Requirements include:

• BS, MS or Ph.D. in Chemical, Plastics, or Polymer Engineering
• 3 or more years of experience in the development of Plastic Materials.
• Specific experience in polymer extrusion processes including reactive extrusion, co-extrusion, compounding, etc.
• Strong team oriented, collaborative style.
