Product Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Product Design Engineer we seek will play a key role as part of a team of highly experienced Engineers and Designers working on a broad range of exciting projects for major consumer product manufacturers.  Duties will include:

• Work with customers and other team members to understand product function and develop innovative designs to meet cosmetic, form, fit and functional criteria.
• Analyze designs for structural integrity and develop improvements to increase strength and reduce materials.
• Coordinate with tool designers to insure the manufacturability of the product.
• Assist in the selection of materials

Requirements include:

• BS Mechanical or similar Engineering
• Specific experience (2 to 5 years minimum) in the design of injection molded plastic products.
• Proven skills in the utilization of ProE or Solidworks CAD systems for solid modeling and skills in structural analysis specific to plastic product design.
• Ability to operate with little direct supervision in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
