Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes in a high speed, high volume precision injection molding facility. Focus will be on continual improvement of quality and process efficiency through the application of advanced lean manufacturing systems and modern technology. Duties will include:
- Management of Departmental Budgets (Capital and Operating) and supervision of Engineering and Technical personnel.
- Organization and layout of facilities and equipment for maximum utilization of space and efficiency.
- Coordinate new product and tooling design and development projects to ensure on-time launch, maufacturability, and maximum process efficiency.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and ensure that Engineering and Technical personnel have the training and skills necessary to utilize advanced technologies, equipment and lean manufacturing techniques to maximize plant efficiencies.
- Develop and Maintain strong relationships with Tooling, R&D, Maintenance and other internal and external vendors and suppliers to ensure communication and cooperation at the highest levels.
- Monitor day to day operations to stay informed of problems and assist, as necessary, in the troubleshooting and rapid resolution of those problems.
Requirements include:
- BS Mechanical, Plastics, or other Engineering Degree
- 7 or more years of experience in high speed, high quality injection molding of precision plastic components.
- Proven skills and track record of utilizing advanced Injection Molding techniques involving intimate knowledge of Tooling (Design, Construction, Function), Thermoplastic Materials, Automation, Processing, and Machines to maximize efficiency, control scrap, and meet stringent quality standards.
- Skills and Experience in the application of modern Lean Manufacturing Techniques-5S, Six Sigma, TQM, etc.
- Strong communication and leadership skills combined with outstanding ability to work with all levels of personnel in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
