Engineering Manager

We seek a Plastics Engineering Manager with experience in Plastic Medical Device Development. Client is a large and well respected manufacturer and developer of some of the most advanced medical device products in the world.  This is a spectacular opportunity to direct the engineering aspects of new product development projects including the development of cutting edge plastic forming and assembly technology.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager - Plastics Process Development will work with corporate Research and Development and Marketing Management to plan and execute projects related primarily to providing technical support to decisions regarding tooling; plastic molding, extrusion and assembly processes; manufacturing; regulatory; and quality.

• Manage a team of Process Development Engineers and Technicians in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for plastic disposable medical devices.
• Provide expert engineering guidance with regard to technical strategies and approaches.
• Drives new product development initiatives and ensures the achievement of technical excellence objectives for products and manufacturing processes.
• Devote significant time to the mentoring, training and motivation of staff and subordinates to attain career goals and maintain superior level of performance.
• Develop and Manage departmental budgets.

Requirements include:

  Apply for this position if you posses the following qualifications:

• BS Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering Degree AND
• At least 8 years of experience in the design and manufacture of Plastic Medical Disposables.
• That experience must include 4-5 years experience in Plastic Process Development for medical device products and 3 or more years of experience in a Engineering Supervisory role such as Sr. Project Engineer, Principle Engineer, or Engineering Manager.

  We will ask about past experience with Design Control, Design for Manufacturing, Design of Experiment, Six  Sigma, Process Capability, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Ergonomics, and CAD skills.
