Design Engineer-Medical Disposables Development

We seek a Senior Design Engineer with specific experience in the design of high volume plastic products.  .  This is a career making opportunity with a major international Medical Device manufacturing organization growing by more than 10% annually. 

Responsibilities:

The Design Engineer will manage major portions of large, complex projects with primary responsibility as the technical leader for the design of plastic disposables for a specific business unit.  The position is at the Staff Level reporting directly to a Group Program Director. Duties will include:

• Working in a team as the Senior Engineer, will provide independent expert technical ideas and direction to plastic product design.
• Specific responsibility for ensuring the integrity of product design and materials selection to ensure the effectiveness of the product in the field.
• Will analyze product designs for ability to withstand stress, meet ergonomic criteria, and meet requirements for efficient manufacturing.

Apply for this position is you have the following:

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering with
• At least 5 to 7 years of experience in the development and design of plastic disposables, consumer products or plastic automotive components..
• Thorough understanding of the characteristics of Polymer Materials and how those characteristc influence design.
• Strong Engineering skills in Mechanical Design, Fluid Dynamics, Statistical Analysis.
• Skills in the plastic mold design including Moldflow Analysis.

You will be asked questions about:

• Your knowledge and understanding of stress analysis, computations regarding fluid flow, plastic materials selection and ergonomics.
• Your ability to provide expert technical guidance and coordinate the efforts of others in complex projects.
