Electronics Hardware and Software Engineer-Medical Device

Our client is a leading manufacturer of cutting edge electronic medical devices.  Located in an attractive smaller community near Los Angeles, the company is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth. Responsibilities:

The Electronics Engineer will be a critical member of the Product Development Team and will work in the design of real-time applications for complex, portable devices that sense patient information and precisely control automated medication delivery. Duties include: 

• Work with other Product Development Team members to define software and hardware requirements.
• Perform circuit design, troubleshooting, RTOS based programming, design of required hardware and documentation of work results.
• Establish and conduct testing routines to accurately evaluate hardware as well as firmware code.
• Participate in Design Reviews.
• Create and deliver status reports to management.

Requirements include:

• BSEE, BSECS or closely related degree.  Masters or other advanced degree preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Real Time systems and hardware design utilizing formalized development process techniques for military or medical device applications.
• Direct experience with commercial embedded system development tools and RTOS.
• Experience with wireless devices (telemetry, radio, Bluetooth, Zigby, etc)
• Specific experience with C or C++, LabView or MatLab, and schematic capture (Altium DXP).
• Ideal candidate would have 2 to 3 years of experience working with Medical Device applications and have a familiarity with FDA compliance and documentation, Clinical Trial protocols, etc.

Compensation:

• Client offers an excellent starting salary and a performance bonus system in addition to Medical, 401k and other benefits.  Location in Central California (near but not in Los Angeles) is attractive with a moderate cost of living and a family friendly community.
