Project Manager
Manage a variety of new product development, manufacturing systems, and capital equipment projects for a Fortune 500 manufacturer of widgets.  Responsible for supervision of five Project Engineers and the review and coordination of their assignments. Projects range in value from $10,000 to $10 million. Duties include: 

• Working with customers to develop new product concepts.
• Directing the development of improvements to production automation and other manufacturing systems to utlize technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Preparing department budgets and estimate capital requirements for each year.
• Managing new product development projects from concept through prototyping, testing, and transfer to Manufacturing for full production.
• Directing the Selection, Training, Discipline and Evaluation of Project Engineers assigned to the Engineering Department.

• Managed the development of five new product lines for a customer that produced annual revenues of $14 million and profit margins averaging 15%.
• Identified new technology that, when installed, resulted in efficiency increases in excess of 25% and improved net margin by more than 14%. Project payback was less than 90 days.

Project Engineer
Responsible for capital equipment projects for a Fortune 500 manufacturer of left handed wrenches. Completed other projects using Six Sigma analytical procedures to identify manufacturing constraints and suggest improvements.  Projects included:

• Preparation of capital requests
• Selection of vendors, and equipment; and supervision of equipment installation, start-up, and debugging.
• Projects range in value from $10,000 to $2.5 million.

• Developed a new process for manufacturing wrenches that saved $500,000 per year.
• Devised and implemented a method of evaluating vendors on performance, cost and other criteria that streamlined contract award system. Savings to the company exceeded $3 million in the first year.
• Completed a major project 60 days ahead of deadline and allowed company to beat competitors to market. Annual profits estimated to exceed $10 million.
